WinterSpring Center offers education and training for anyone who would like to learn more about how to help others who are grieving. Teachers, caregivers, social service providers, chemical dependency counselors and medical professionals enhance their professional skills with grief and loss education.

WinterSpring’s Comprehensice semi-annual Grief & Loss Training includes an experiential weekend workshop on October 22 and 23, 2011, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 5 evening sessions and 2 experiential/observation sessions totaling 30 hours. CEUs available for an extra charge. 

The classes are designed for anyone who encounters grieving people in the course of work or personal life, and wants to learn more about how to help. Teachers, caregivers, social service providers, chemical dependency counselors and medical professionals enhance their professional skills with grief and loss education.

The series is required for people who want to help grieving children, teens and adults by volunteering at WinterSpring Center. Volunteers who assist facilitators will gain experience in the group process. People who want to work directly with bereaved people on an individual basis will witness the positive difference such support can make in a person's life. Classes include Issues of Death and Dying; Bereavement; Child and Teen Grief; Support Group Facilitation Skills; Laughter and Play Therapy; and Personal Growth Opportunities.

It’s hard enough just being a teenager, let alone a grieving teen. A local high school counselor who took our intensive grief and loss professional training wrote:

 “I am so grateful for the support and training that WinterSpring provides for the community and for professionals like me … All of the 15 students we invited to the first group showed, stayed and want to continue.
